[April 22nd] West Coach Station’s operator sets revenue record

The West Coach Station Company (WCS), a leading bus terminal operator, has achieved a record-breaking revenue of nearly VND39 billion (US$1.53 million) in Q1, the highest quarterly revenue since its 2010 listing.

This represents a 14% increase compared to the same quarter last year, according to its newly published financial report.

The Ho Chi Minh City-based firm reported a profit of over VND19 billion, its second highest ever, trailing only the fourth quarter of 2014, and marking a 21% increase from the previous year.

The surge in revenue during the first quarter is attributed to the Lunar New Year festival (Tet) season, a peak travel time when many people travel from HCMC to their hometowns.

This increased demand led to a rise in both bus and passenger numbers, enabling WCS to enhance its service charge income. Furthermore, the company’s strategic adjustments to parking and shuttle service fees contributed to this revenue growth.

Financial activities witnessed a significant rise, with earnings from bank deposit interest and other passenger-related services reaching nearly VND4.3 billion, an increase of 23%.
